1st & 2nd October 2020

Inspiring change and improving knowledge

Colleagues & Partners

It will come as no surprise to most of you that the original dates for this event have now been changed to Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd October 2020.

This was the most appropriate date given that the hotel could accommodate us and other events taking place in November.

I am aware that a number of you have booked the nights of 29th April and the 1st May as an extended break.

I assume you also wish me to cancel on your behalf, please confirm in writing.

If you are still able to attend the event on the 1st and 2nd October, please confirm in an email to me.

If you are unable to attend, again, please confirm in writing, if your organisation has paid, please let me have details for reimbursement to include bank account, sort code and reference for a bank transfer, or if a cheque refund is required, details of where the cheque should be sent.

If you wish me reserve you a room on the night of 30th September or the 2nd October, again, please confirm in an email.

All costs remain the same.

If you have made a booking on behalf of others, please let them know.

If you still wish to attend and your organisation has not paid, please ask them to do so by the 30th March 2020, unless previously notified in writing, no refunds can be made after the 30th March 2020.

It is hoped that there will still be availability for late bookings.

Apologies for the inconvenience but I think you will understand the reasons why these changes have been made.

If the present situation continues after October, not only will we have to re think the event for 2020 but the Worlds will be in a totally different place.

Apologies if you receive this message more than once.

23rd - 27th November 2020

Inspiring change and improving knowledge

Dates are now published for the next national CDLO course, to be held in Manchester at the GMP training school.

The dates are Monday 23rd to Friday 27th of November 2020 which is when we usually hold the course.

I did consider an earlier date due to the number of tentative enquiries I have received I think as a result of the letter to Chief Officers from Mr O’Doherty our NPCC lead.

Due to commitments at the training school this was not possible and with the present situation with the Corona Virus it is probably for the best.

The course is a one week residential course with a lunchtime start on the Monday and a lunchtime finish on the Friday which does enable travel on the Monday morning but the rooms will be available on the Sunday for those who wish to travel earlier.

I have a limited number of rooms available so can I suggest that applications are made via the attached form at the earliest opportunity and if no candidate yet in post could I suggest you still book as A N other to make sure of a place.

The fully inclusive price I believe is circa £704 based on last year and if any increase it will be minimal. The course will cover the Health Act, 2006, Information and Intelligence handling/sharing and will include working with partner agencies, regulators, the Controlled Drugs Accountable officer and other NHS colleagues.

Please contact me directly if you require a booking form.
